9/11 Weekend of Service Day #2

The New York Blood Center came to our church today and many volunteers donated a pint of blood which can save 3 lives!  I donated today after not having donated for a long time because my iron was low in the past.  But today, it was very good and I have to say, it was a great experience.  I did feel dizzy a little bit and had to sit down throughout the afternoon but the support of everyone was wonderful.  Click on the banner if you'd like to make an appointment to donate!

9/11 Weekend of Service Day #1

My 14 yr old son, Zack, and I went down to Brick Twp, NJ to get American Red Cross Training and along with many other Hope Worldwide volunteers yesterday for our 9/11 Day of Service.  We helped canvas those areas Hurricane Sandy hit hardest, telling others about disaster preparedness and handing out information. We had a good time.  Afterwards, we hit our favorite icecream shop down there called "Yellowbrick Road." Click here for info on how you can help.  And yes, my son is officially taller than me now.

Replenishing my Cards for All Occasions Supply!

I always like to keep on hand cards for all of my upcoming occasions so that I am prepared to write out a card at a moments notice.  I made these cards using 3 different color combinations but using the same design.  Colors inspired from a picture of a purse I saw from a Justice catalog and I used the design from a card sample from the May/Jun 2013 issue of Stampin' Success.

Easy way to get even ribbon tails is to center the hexagon punch between two ends of cardstock and punch!  Hexagon Punch #130919

Visiting Henrietta

Here's a picture of me and Henrietta.  Every other week, I bring along one of my kids and visit her, paint her nails and bring something she might need.  This time she wanted her nails red and I also gave her 3 of her favorite word find books in the size she likes.  She was very grateful.  I tied a bow around the books in Calypso Coral Chevron Ribbon!
