Cards made with Seasonal Snapshot Project Life!

I just love the Project Life Seasonal Snapshot Cards and Accessories I got at Convention 2014.  They gave us the Accessory Pack free and we were able to purchase the Card Kit at Convention early before it goes on sale to demonstrators Aug 1st and customers Aug 29th!

Halloween card:  I used one of the small cards and layered with Basic Black Cardstock and Sahara Sand.  I used the bats button from the Accessory pack and Tangelo 3/8" Ribbon to embellish it.

For the Thanksgiving Card I used the Chevron Stripe Embossing Folder and Tangerine Tango Cardstock layered on Tangerine Tango Cardstock with a small card from the kit and accessories to add dimension.

For the Christmas card I used a small card from the box and layered it on Basic Black Cardstock and layered that on an Old Olive card.  I added snowflakes from the Accessory Pack and tied a Cherry Cobbler Satin Ribbon on it.

Visiting Diane in San Pedro, CA

Here's my sister, Diane, and I in San Pedro in front of the famous three eyed fish picture.
We took these pictures while visiting the aquarium in San Pedro...

Ordering lunch at the famous In and Out Burger, and to quote former Defensive End, Mike Strahan of the NY Giants, "they're some pretty darn good burgers!"

Yum yum!

Kayaking in Long Beach...

Standing by the Queen Mary...

At Point Vincent Lighthouse...

Diane sells some of her artwork at this great permanent craft store in San Pedro called, Crafted.  She made coasters of the 3 eyed fish, big sellers there.

Diane and I painted canvases in acrylics one night at her house.  I made sunflowers...

Whale watching trip at Dana Point.  We didn't see whales but we were sailing with dolphins, sea lions and a huge sunfish about 4 ft long!

Visiting Lisa in Phoenix, AZ

Some highlights from my trip out west....
Here's me an my sister, Lisa, at a favorite spot called the Yardhouse in Phoenix, AZ.

This is one of her dogs, Cocoa.  She is so sweet, she will lick your feet if you walk around barefoot.

This is Ginger, Lisa's first dog, and is a little bit more high energy.

Here's Lisa's house in Surprise, AZ.

And her pool...

And her pool from another angle...

Some cool cactuses, when they start growing arms they are over 300 years old!

And more neat vegetation.

Convention Day 2 Highlights

Day 2 started with the General Session and we all got free Type Set Specialty DS Paper!

COO Rich Jutkins spoke about Stampin' Up! going to Japan!  You gotta love his shirt, "Channel Your Inner Stamper."  He stamped through his whole talk and made an amazing tag!

Then Diann and I made some great samples at the Mini Make and Take Classes, fun, fun!

I think my favorite class was Bonnie Thurbers, We're Glad You're Here, Stay A While.  She talked about the cyclical life of a direct sales person and to not be surprised when you get in the "Doldrum" phase.  This concept is based on the book by Pat Pearson called "Party with a Purpose" who researched those of us in the "party business."  Bonnie is so open and real about herself as she compared her own life situations with that of the 4 cycles we will go through over the years we are in this business.  The 4 cycles are the Go For It or the honeymoon stage, the Doldrums, Cocooning and finally Getting Ready.  We will go through these stages many times.  The key is she says is that you don't get stuck in the doldrums but that you move into cocooning so that you can go to the getting ready and then the Go For It Stage once again.

And finally, a picture of our walk back to our hotel each evening.  Look at those beautiful mountains!  They don't even look real.  That's all for tonight.  See you tomorrow with Convention Day 3.

Arrived in Salt Lake City!

I arrived in Salt Lake City at 7:30 PM, took a shuttle to my hotel where I'm sharing a room with a sweet lady, Diann.

Dropped our bags off at the hotel and headed over to the Convention Center to pick up our goodie bags and check in.

I love the bags we got this year; very compact and great colors Real Red and Soft Sky.

Will post more tomorrow, very late and we need to get up at 7:00 AM.
