Convention Make and Takes and Workshop Projects!

Here's some of the great projects we made at Convention 2014!

We made 3 notecards using the Amazing Birthday Stamp Set and Gift Card Enclosure Pack Envelopes and Star Framelits.  Colors are Tangerine Tango, Hello Honey, Real Red and Lost Lagoon.

More make and take projects...

The "thanks" sentiment is heat embossed with Gold Stampin' Embossing powder and a Versa Mark Pad.  I sponged Hello Honey and Tangelo Twist Classic Ink on the tag.

I love this project because we made one card simple...

and another one stepped up but using the leaves and honey comb embossing folder.  Love it!

Everyday Occasions Card Class!

Here are the two cards we'll be making at my Everyday Occasions Card Kit Class in September.

For the flower card I punched out 5 scallops from the 1 1/4" Scallop Punch in Crisp Cantelope and Calypso Coral Cardstock.  Then I used the Fringe Scissors to cut out the middle of the flower.  I made cuts down a 1" strip of Hello Honey Card Stock and then made cuts again to make the fringes even thinner.  I hot glued the center into the flower and the flower onto the card.

For this card I used the accessories in the Every Day Occasions Card Kit but heat embossed the kraft scallop "for you" sentiment in White Embossing Powder.  Then I used the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set to make the polka dots on the feathers from the Kit using Basic Gray and Crumb Cake Cardstock.

Family Trip to Knoebels!

This is the entrance to Knoebels in Elysburg, PA

Taking the tram to the amusement park from the parking lot.

Waiting to get splashed on the Skloosh.

Going on the Black Diamond Ride, a ride through a coal mine furnished with all the trimmings of a real coal mine, including skeletons!

Yes, I really did go on the Phoenix (the 2nd best wooden roller coaster in the country) and will never do that again.  It was SCARY and Hunter and I thought we were going to fly right out of our seats.

We always have a great time at Knoebels!

Scrapbook Page Ideas from Convention 2014!

Here are some of my favorite scrapbook pages that I saw at Convention.

I love the stitching they did around the picture and the cardstock.  Circle stamp used is from Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set and Whisper White Craft Ink Pad

This 12 x 12 layout was made with the Every Day Adventure Project Life and Accessory Kit.  I am biased towards this one because it features their pug. Maggie.

They used the Every Day Adventure Project Life and Accessory Kit for this layout, too.

Love this page made with Flowerpot DS Paper and Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set

A little blurry but this one is simple and elegant made with Water Color WonderWashi Tape, Elegant Butterfly Punch and Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set

Ribbon Flip Flops, Glass Table Decor and Treat Bag Samples from Convention!

Wanted to share some great projects from my recent Stampin' Up! Convention trip to Salt Lake City....

I just love these "doctored up" flipflops!  What they did was buy inexpensive flipflops and then tied the new 1/4" Cotton Ribbon in various colors all around the pair of flip flops.

Diann and I loved these glass decorative table accents!  You can get these clear glass table accents and punch out a flower with the 7/8" Scallop Punch in any of the DS Papers and Voila!  Instant inexpensive yet charming table accents for your party.

More glass table decorations using my favorite DS Paper, Flower Pot

Finally, we loved these treat bags for every occasion: there's one for camping filled with smores ingredients, Fourth of July filled with Red Hot Candies and even milk bones for the dog!  Ribbon used: 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon

Popovers for Breakfast!

Woke up late this morning, beautiful summer morning, kids are starting to wake up so I'm planning to surprise them with homemade popovers.  Did you ever have them?  They remind me when I was a little girl and me and my sister would sleep over our friends house and her mother made the BEST popovers.  They'd be high and hollow inside, so you could fill it with lots of BUTTER.

I filled these a little more than 2/3rds full.  I really want to invest in some good popover tins.  These I think are a bit smaller.

I baked these for half the time on 350 because they are smaller tins.

They are just as yummy as I remember them being as a kid.

Here's the recipe I used from Martha Stewart:
PHOTOGRAPHY:

    YieldMakes 6

    Ingredients

      • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted, plus more for greasing tin
      • 1 cup all-purpose flour
      • 1/2 teaspoon salt
      • 2 large eggs
      • 1 1/4 cups milk

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Lightly grease and flour a popover tin.
    2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and 1 tablespoon melted butter. Pour over flour mixture, and fold until just blended.
    3. Fill the popover cups two-thirds to three-quarters full.
    4. Transfer tin to oven, and bake for 15 minutes. Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees, and bake until well browned and crusty, about 20 minutes. Remove popovers from the oven, and unmold onto a rack. Puncture the sides with a sharp knife to let steam escape, and serve immediately.

Decorative Candle for CCM Kids College

Here's one of the projects we'll be making at my Rubberstamping: Gifts, Bags and Favors Class I'm teaching at County College of Morris Kids College next week.

I cut a 8" by 1 1/2" piece of cardstock in Soft Suede ran it through the Big Shot machine with the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder on both ends and then direct to paper stamped the Soft Suede Classic Ink Pad over the concave images.

Then I heat embossed Gold Embossing Powder and Versa Mark to create the 3 charms and punched them out with the 3 pack of Itty Bitty Accent Punches,  punched a hole in each with a 1/16" circle punch and tied them together with Linen Thread and hung them using a glue dot.  The ribbon is gold bakers twine.  I used sticky tape to secure the label onto the jar.  The candles I got at Walmart for
    $1.00 each.
